Menstrual Cycle and Ovulation: LET US STOP PRETENDING THAT THESE THINGS DON’T MATTER, BECAUSE THEY DO.
I saw this message about a year ago and just noticed it again today in my archive. I have decided to share it and to encourage others to do the same. I did some editing for easier reading and sweet flow. I did not change substance of the message, though. Please let us give it some time. It is worth it.
Most girls don’t understand this because of much heavy grammar used to teach it, and we don’t listen to our body too. I read, I started listening to my body for signs and I arrived at the simple analysis/steps. ………………
MENSTRUAL PERIOD: The time blood flows out of your private area (vagina), i.e. when you use pad.
MENSTRUAL CYCLE: Days it takes to see another blood in the month. If you last saw your period on June 11th and it started again on July 10th 2018, for example, then you have a 30-day cycle (count from 11 June to 10 July).
NOTE: It is erroneous to believe that all ladies have a 28-day cycle. Different women have different cycles ranging from 21-35 days.
OVULATIONPERIOD: This is the time a woman can get pregnant without stress. This is 2 weeks after your period or 2 weeks before the next period.
THIS IS WHAT MOST LADIES EVER GET TO KNOW. But it is not enough information. …………………………….. Here’s a simple way to calculate your ovulation (unsafe) period.
HERE IS A SIMPLE WAY TO CALCULATE YOUR OVULATION (UNSAFE) PERIOD!
1. From the first day you see the blood of your period.
2. Pick up a calendar and count 15 days including the first day of the blood stain.
3. Mark the 15th day with a pen.
4. Mark 3 days before the 15th day, and mark 3 days after the 15th day.
5. You will notice you have 7 days marked. …………………..
THESE 7 DAYS ARE YOUR OVULATION/FERTILE DAYS, ALSO KNOWN AS UNSAFE PERIOD, WHEN THE CHANCES FOR PREGNANCY ARE VERY HIGH AFTER SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.
Menstrual Cycle and Ovulation
In other words, if you have sex on any of these days, then you have 98% chances of being pregnant.
6. Do this every month diligently.
EVERY OTHER DAY OUTSIDE THESE SEVEN (7) IS YOUR SAFE PERIOD. …………………..
or example:
1. If your period is 11th July, 2018
2. 15 days after the first day of the blood stain will be on 25th July (2weeks after) counting from 11th
3. 15th day is on the 25th July 2017.
4. 3 days before the 15th day are 22, 23, 24.
5. 3 days after 25th July 2017 are 26,27,28.
6. 22-28th July (7days) is when you are ovulating. It is your fertile period. It is your so-called unsafe period.
**Don’t forget that the 7 days is a reminder that sperm stays in the female body for about 7 days. Any sexual contact in the days within the ovulation period will form something that has ears, eyes, etc. PIKIN! ALSO…… If you want a baby girl, have sex between 3 days before ovulation (22- 24th) 2018
For a baby boy, on the main ovulation day and 3 days after 25th. …………………….
MAJOR SIGNS THAT YOUR OVULATION HAS BEGUN…
You don’t need a doctor, just relax. After 2 weeks you may feel the following:
1. Headache
2. High body temperature
3. Dizziness (feeling of tiredness and sleepiness)
4. Breast tenderness/ size increases just like when you are menstruating
5. Increased sex drive
6. Light cramps or pain on one side of the pelvis
7. Abdominal bloating
8. Heightened sense of smell, taste or vision (you eat more)
9. Vaginal mucus becomes slippery (if you notice, put it in between fingers…it stretches like thick catarrh or snail mucus…colorless like egg white.
………………... N/B: The instance here is for ladies with a 30 day cycle. And someone who saw her period in July 2018.
If your cycle is 28 days,, then you use 14 days where this example uses 15 days.
The rest is correct for all. If you have headache without a cause, check back to when your period started.
You can drink both malt and peak milk….don’t run to the pharmacist always on issues that can be naturally handled, because drugs are not always good on girls. Or you can take only paracetamol. (NO BE ME TALK AM OOO)

Ovulation
” For those asking how to calculate ovulation and fertile days, here we go again!
1.)First you need to know your cycle length before you can know your likely ovulation day. Note that a normal cycle length ranges between 21-35 days, anything below 21 days or above 35 days is abnormal, so see a doctor).
What is ovulation???
Ovulation is the process in which a mature egg is released from the ovary. After it’s released, the egg moves down the fallopian tube and stays there for 12 to 24 hours, where it can be fertilized.
The length of your menstrual cycle – ovulation usually occurs around 10 to 16 days before your period starts, so you may be able to work out when you’re likely to ovulate if you have a regular cycle. you may notice wetter, clearer and more slippery mucus around the time of ovulation.
How do I know if I’m ovulating?
*Menstrual cycle/Ovulation typically happens around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle, counting from the first day of your period. But normal cycles can be as short as 21 days, or as long as 35 days. You’ll want to track your cycle over multiple months to learn its length. You’re likely to ovulate around the middle date of your cycle, give or take a few days.
*Body temperature. Your temperature rises slightly for a few days after ovulation takes place.
You may be able to detect the change by taking your temperature every morning.
Vaginal discharge. There’s likely more of it around the time of ovulation. It’s usually more clear and more slippery.
During the ovulation period, the nutrient-rich, slippery fluid increases in volume. Cervical mucus is often described as having an egg-white consistency during this time.
*increased sexual drive
*ovary pain, characterized by discomfort or pain on one side of the abdomen
*Tender breasts
NOTE:
Some women don’t ovulate on a set schedule. If you can’t figure out when it happens or if your menstrual cycle isn’t regular, ask your doctor for help.
Thumps up to every woman
I will use simple terms so that every one understand the discussion.
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary.
It is the egg that is released that meets with the sperm a process known as fertilization to form a baby
The released egg last for 12 to 24 hours
Your fertile period is the time when intercourse occur you are likely to conceive because the
sperm can last up to 5 days .
while ovulation is the most fertile time or peak period for conception
For those asking how to calculate ovulation and fertile days, here we go.
First you need to know your cycle length before you can know your likely ovulation day.
Note that a normal cycle length ranges between 21-35 days, anything below 21 days or above 35 days is abnormal,
To know your cycle length (that is how many days it takes before you see your menstrual period) you start counting from the FIRST day you saw blood to the last day before you see blood of your next period.
Example
If your period started today, 9th June and that of July started maybe on 5th July.
If you count from 9th June to 4th July, you have 26days, so 26days is your cycle length.
It might not be 26 days for every month but always count from the FIRST day of an existing period to last day of the next one to get your cycle length.
When you can accurately calculate your cycle length, you can then be able to know when to likely ovulate and also your fertile window.
To calculate ovulation/fertile days after you have known your cycle length which can be anything between 21-35 days.
ALWAYS USE 14 as a constant factor
Example
If the cycle length is 33 days,
You do 33-14
If your cycle length is 29days
You do 29-14
So whatever your cycle length, you subtract 14 from it.
Your fertile window is 5 days before the ovulation day & a day after (7 days altogether). menstrual cycle and ovulation
To illustrate better,
If your period started today, 9th June and you have already calculated your cycle length to be 26days,
applying the 14 factor to calculate ovulation (26-14=12) you are likely to ovulate on 20thJune
(counting 12 days from 9th June which is the first day your period started) and fertile window will be 15th 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th & 21stJune (that is five days before ovulation day & a day after).
Note*
Having an irregular period does not mean you are not ovulating so also having a regular period does not guarantee ovulation has occurred
What are the other signs of ovulation to watch out for???
Tender nipples
Abdominal pain for some just one sided
Sexual urge
High temperature
Cervical mucor etc
Different people have different signs ,most people think cervical mucus is the only way to know if your ovulating or the only sign that ovulation has occurred.
Cervical mucus is extremely important but there are other symptoms that aid in ovulation.
Other means to monitor ovulation is through ovulation kit and ovulation monitor ,
Knowing the right time to check either through ovulation kit or ovulation monitor is vital .
